why doesn't he just tell them he is a guy? why didn't he disguise himself as a guy in the first place? all these little goons falling in love are getting annoying ngl
In ch. 2 it had a flashback to when he was in the other world and being known as a hero made him into a target for assassination, so hiding his identity is meant to protect him and his family. The appearance and name that he is using is of the summoner that brought him to that world in a bit of spitefulness to make her famous in this world.

I'm assuming that the worlds are actually linked through the dungeons at this point and the actual Egil will eventually make an appearance.

Why do these chinese characters have japanese names?

The manga probably used the japanese pronunciation of their chinese names for easier reading

Liu Bei = Ryuubi
Lu Bu = Ryofu
Sun Wukong = Son Goku

Im not a translator myself as i just only know that fact... So im not sure thats the case. Hence probably

Whoa, I just realized that initially he still looked like a guy in armor https://mangadex.org/chapter/347b6f55-14d7-464a-ae2c-73bd02debe47/10

I can't find the raw, so I am not 100% sure about this manga.
But usually, Chinese characters have the kanji name and the Chinese reading in katakana above it. So, when translating these names to English you either need to use the katakana or read the kanji in Chinese.

The translator probably only grabbed the kanji and read it in Japanese.

Or I might be wrong, and this manga simply doesn't bother with Chinese names.

Yeah, it depends upon the translator or the manga itself.

Some series literally just go Katakana on how to pronunce in japanese, some just use the japanese reading...
