Like others said, this is getting silly. Each outing has something go wrong, and only for him. And he keeps on pushing deeper than last time despite that.
And he continuously take hits to the head (concussions) and treat it as something sensible to sleep off, and overall seem to be fairly fine despite all the super-stronk hits his body gets battered with (he literally goes flying!).
Also like others said, it's odd how he doesn't seem to try and find a party (nor does the guild even introduce the idea to, or even the concept of their existence?) or overall tries to find out tips and tricks to the profession (there are plenty to ask, both introduced in the story and not. and surely he could ask about extra ways to make money like other herbs to keep an eye for, or parts of the prey that he could bring back and sell. Etc.?).
And add to that how he was introduced as an oddly sensible, mature, and intelligent kid, who might not have been literate or particularly beefy, but still impressed them in a way... only for them all to continuously talk about how unimpressed they were by him and think he will die quickly as he seems entirely talentless, and is why they didn't give their names instantly? Did they forget that he stood out as rarely intelligent? (though he later proved not to be, as discussed above...)
ps: that rule about needing literacy to get good & safe initial quests is really odd too. Why kill off anyone illiterate?
Looked more like thunder-magicks from that goblin shaman imo.
Such a silly thing to say when you topple a tree in a single swing through regular human strength (no magic involved in any way)
But other than that it seems rather reasonable (protect limbs so they can be used to cover for more vital areas in a pinch or even hit the enemy with said limbs without hurting yourself, and otherwise simply makes running and fighting in a forest easier). People complain about the headband, but iirc those were a thing irl, so they must have had some purpose (even if I agree the claim that it protects against ambushes seems false - particularly as ambushes tend to come from behind).

No, if there was a level-up mechanic in this world then mc would either have known of it, been told it at the guild (if it required killing so ppl don't know of it), or it would have been mentioned by ppl when talking about his talents.levellllll up! holy shit mc just felled a tree with one strike while only using one hand our boy is getting strong. Not to mention it looks like he bashed one of the goblin's heads in with just his hands/shield

This -^"I'm still so weak" he says as he knocks down a mid sized tree with one swing.
I like this kid. He's good, this manga is good.

He is a reincarnated jp mc.Hmm.. what his curse again??
Yup, the chestpiece seems extremely optimized for arrow-using enemies that aim for the heart (so you can't fight back when dying, or even run home and die there). And you are right that the gut is left entirely exposed and most likely target for short enemies + a good target to let your enemy die painfully over a long time.In truth, every historical armor had gaps (mainly at the joints), that could be exploited, but you're right that what he has is just borderline non-functioning. He has some sort of plate on his chest, which is good, since it's the biggest targer, but it terminates far too low, so a good portion is still uncovered, the design itself is jus weird, the way it connects so low with the oversized pauldrons. Even worse, his entire midriff is exposed, the second biggest target, scratch that, with the short opponents he's been fighting, belly shots would be more expected that going for the chest...
