Yeah the manhua adaptation kind of sucks, which is why it stopped at 2 volumes apparently, but I can't even fault the manga for being a bad adaptation when the novel is actually bad too.
Which is like hella sad, cause KNM is genuinely my favorite Yu Wo series. I'd say so far it suffers the least from Yu Wo Ending syndrome (in terms of consistency. For example, Legend of Sun Knight was amazing and had a meh leadup to the end that was still better than 1/2 Prince's). I'm hoping it gets the GOD treatment and gets rewritten someday, because there were some cool concepts that were just forgotten and poorly executed. Like how trees are almost extinct. Or the fact that they live in a futuristic society that has knights, magic, and mechs regularly interacting with each other. You know. So minor things like world setting and overarching plot won't be forgotten. No biggie.
...Anyways if you are a regular Yu Wo reader and think "hm, I heard this was bad, I might skip it" don't. Or do. Depends on your schedule. It is objectively messy, but it's a favorite among people who read it. If you aren't used to Yu Wo bullshit, skipping this is completely understandable
