Second-Hand gear might not be that wanted nor valuable, unless it's actually atleast somewhat better than starting gear, which is likely what he's found so far.
Then repair, cleaning etc. fees would also decrease the profit.
And he would need someone he trusts to sell them.

That's if it's even possible to loot them in any other way than manually removing any equipment and then carrying it to the exit.
