The drawing boy existing in the "real world" means that she was right, right?
They are still inside a "painting" of sorts, with the game just being a really old / advanced version. That's why his / her death doesn't matter, we've established the painting master can revive anyone at will.
I also like how this means she didn't combine him into the painting monster 😅 I guess she does care about him at least a little!
