Bro i think that's the best theorythanks for the chapter!!
I think the mushroom means that she's small + her cloak + she's sleeping under a tree makes her look really like a mushroom.
anw, wild theory here but maybe he's the actual protagonist of the game/story? That explains why he's in this town, able to go out of it, and being able to see her. This means that the other MC - the one that our heroine killed back then - is just a fraud.
to make it clearer:
other MC = Yue Kongming, purple-eyed guy
this dude = this waiter in this chapter, green-eyed guy
the original story has this dude in this chapter as the protagonist. The other MC is actually just an NPC who awaken (being aware that the world is a game/story like our heroine) and decided to kill the real protagonist and take his role. By doing so, he screwed the story off so bad, essentially changing the entire story. But due to our heroine killing him, the world got reset back to normal, and now the original story with this dude as the protagonist is playing out, which is why our heroine feels that things are so strange/different now.
damn dude youre cookingthanks for the chapter!!

Come to think of it, othe MC was apparently writing in the strategy guide, and it seems like he's repeating the story over and over.thanks for the chapter!!
