Usually this type of story posits that killing, no matter what, is evil. Like in Hell Girl, she would help you to get your revenge, but you have to pay price: going to hell.

Ooh dang, def explains the atmosphere, ln adaptations that aren't the generic isekai are interesting, good luck, hopefully this doesn't end halfway through/on a cliffhanger and like "the ending is in the novel, go switch to that" (while i'm sure there are some translators who do both it would be tedious lol)
