The more I read the more I didn't want to keep reading. The characters are all incredibly helpless and passive in their own situations and it made me frustrated to read about. As someone who's not passive irl, it felt like watching completely fine social situations spiral out of control as characters remained passive over and over again. If I had to describe the characters in this, it'd be painfully passive and overwhelmingly stupid.

Just to add, I read the whole series because someone who doesn't normally recommend me manga or anime suddenly said they really liked this and I wanted to know more to talk about it with them.

It was a painful struggle to read through all of this.

Imo the characters situations don't feel relatable to my perspective on life or love. How our protagonist Bum behaves and interacts is so completely removed from myself to the point it felt alien. Sangwoo's perspective on the other extreme was equally out there. He's ultra narcissistic and psychopathic, completely unrelatable. The only time I felt for him, was when they showed the backstory of his parents, thought it took them 50 chapters to get there. His Mother was truly fucked up, and she passed that shit on.

The more I read about both of them, the murder plots and the romance plot, the more I bored I felt.
It was fucked up, but none of the characters were relatable and their situations never seemed to change. They developed I guess as characters, their trauma was able to covered and they were able to have a facade of normalcy around all the fucked up shit. Yet I never grew invested in the characters or the police investigations. I never rooted for any of the characters or felt like there was any meaning to reading about them. I grew more apathetic the longer I read.

Until I read the last chapter and thought, "damn what a waste of my time."

It's a tragic tale, but the characters feel about as alien to me as the actual aliens out of GANTZ
