It genuinely seems like the author is intentionally tanking the series to get rid of it. That's why the "only 3 chapters" left thing is there right on the first place, so that people might stick around since it won't take too long before ending anyways.
I don't even think it makes sense based on the Sister's personality to do this, if she wanted to kill someone, she would kill the MC not her brother.

If i were to guess, kyou's sister mentioned how dangerous the balcony travel is and knew they were friggin so she probably pushed him off when he was climbing back to his apartment and is gonna frame it as an accident. Knowing how fucked up she is, she's probably also gonna publicly frame Rikimaru on Kyou's death
