I still can’t believe that no one has touched this
Up to Chapter 88, this is a masterpiece of what constitutes a devil. A devil who does overt evil deed is quickly identified and pinned down. A devil who walks a thin fine line between extreme covert violence, covert evil whispering, covert manipulation, and overt kindness, overt innocence, and overt emotional support? That is a devil. First part of the story detailed how overt is the MC's violence, and second part of the story detailed how covert is the MC's evil manipulations. And how the MC believes his evilness is due to fate.

If you're on the fence, please give this work a try. There are Eng. translations in Manganelo/Mangakakalot as well.
There are two distinct halves of the story. The first half is a little grueling due to some repetitive moments and some brief scenes of torture / sexual violence. It asks interesting questions on morality / forgiveness. At times it repeats this question to death, but overall you come to appreciate them.
However, the 2nd half is where it really shines. Each chapter will leave you interested to see what happens next. It works super well to leave gaps in the timeline and have you keep reading to fill them in throughout the story. The ending is also unexpected, but it still manages to offer a lot of closure to the story. The 1 thing I wish the story did better was to introduce more interesting antagonists.
Satisfying read; I am glad I gave this a chance. Strong 9/10 for me.

It might me something wrong within me but this manga isn't heavy enough. And it is too slow paced. It took the manga 30 chapters to do what could've been done within 8 chapters.

this manga has personally insulted me by existing, at the very least i can take some comfort on the fact that this fucker shit author: "Sano, Takashi" only has one published work after this one, which tells me he either isnt a full time mangaka
or struggles to find anyone to publish his garbage, good, fuck him
in one hand, initially sets the MC as a complete absolute piece of human garbage but it doesnt give any background or reason as to why he did everything he did to his fellow classmates, he was a "devil" because yes, the plot needed it to set its premise, and in the other hand, it does everything in order to reward him for his deeds:
he drilled a hole in some dude hand, this dude become his guardain making sure nothing bad happens to him or his love ones
he raped a girl, this girl falls in love with him and goes as far as allowing someone to rape her in order to aid MC
everyone who has every reason to hurt him or kill never does because "living is the actual punishment"
and his big punishment is that he goes on living as a mediocre man doing shitty jobs or being homeless when unable to get one of those, and there is ocassional one liners about
"im never going to forgive you" that never go beyond that, one liners that never lead to actual actions. Several girls fall in love with him, because of course, and this happens even when the girls are aware of his record of raping and torturing people, nothing ever bad happens to him besides some real quick episodes of "abuse" at the hands of some forgetable characters that never results in lasting damage or consquences
no one ever goes to the police, or chops his arms, or cut his legs, or gouge his eyes out, no, his suffering is feeling "wevy sowy" and at some point we have a character that has 5 years worth of evidence and yet she never went to the fucking police but instead chose to confront a man with a history of kidnapping, raping and beatings, genius
and something that pisses me off is how they constantly repeat this bullshit one liner "we buried that devil", like some kind of magical absolution from all the sins he commited, like by simply saying it everything is fine and dandy and despite being a serious work with a plot such as this there a too many panels of girls being cutesy and of characters having deformed "funny" faces
yusuke's has a harem of characters that constantly tell him how good he is, how much they appreciate him, how much they love him, and so on and on and on, and always ready to solve his problems
and how idiotic is the fact that he simply forgets all of this because he was feeling "wevy guilty, and wevy bad", he spends years doing such atrocities on daily basis but the guilt only develops when the plot was needing some shitty excuse for him to forget all of that, and some even more idiotic is the fact that he feels so guilty yet he never goes to the police, he never hands himself over, he never rats out his former playmates, so the whole guilt means shit when the character does nothing, he doesnt get punishment nor does he seek it and he constanly relies on the help of a piece of shit like aizawa to do his dirty work
this manga is garbage, apologist garbage that never delivers punishment, that shits on the whole "the MC is trying to atone" by having him do nothing to atone and at the same time having aizawa being some magical being capable of protecting him of everything at any moment, every character that ever had a reason to resent him or hate it, didnt, and the fucking ending with the idiotic moments: "oh, this guy raped me but i kind of love him, hehe", "oh this guy burn my skin but i kind of dont care", "oh this guy drilled a hole in my hand, hehe" like it was some fun times to remember,

Love this manga absolutely, if you are the type to took the manga too literal and want it to be too realistic like the one above me (should just read biography or history instead reading some manga then...also probably doesnt understand what is trauma,and how human psyche work, how threat and blackmail affect your mind...and that not all revenge cames in same shape...you should think of these with the mindset of japanese not anything else, otherwise you wont get why people act like this or that like the person above me...), then this manga isnt for you, but if you arent, go ahead and give it a try!

That was satisfying. Thank you. I’m astonished by the amount of people praising this garbage. The characters’ reactions are very unrealistic, stupid, and fucking annoying. There are too many flaws in this trash that I can’t even properly recall.
They made a fucking art gallery for him at the end, called him a hero, and shamed everyone (that wasn’t a victim) who was rightfully disgusted by that vermin.
He got too many girls swooning over his dick. He never got proper ass-whooping. Just a few smacks. I wanted a gorefest, and all I got is “emotional torture.” Girls had their assholes torn apart by this scum, someone committed suicide because of him, he gangraped a girl and forced her brother to jerk off to her, but all he gets is guilt and a few smacks.
And don’t get me started on Ichinose. I think he raped her so much she ended up falling in love with his dick or something. That masochistic slut gets on my nerves.
There’s literally no reason for her to fall in love and run away with him. The author was not subtle with his fetish at all. She keeps saying ohhh I hate him ohhh I wanna fucking murder him oooh but nearly gets herself raped by “another devil” to save him. She nonchalantly stabs the “other devil,” but can’t get herself to do the same to Yusuki. Is it because the other devil failed in his attempt to rape her? Is it the hypnotic power of Yusuki’s dick? Is it the MC’s plot armor?
It’s all words. Empty words. Just like every other character. Their actions don’t match their words. It’s like the author is trying to gaslight us and convince us that Yusuki got proper retribution. But words and feelings are never enough. We need actions and actual physical punishments. What a waste of potential. Fake deep bullshit. Horrible message. Romanticization of “cRiMiNaL aNd ViCtiM ReLaTiOnShiPs.” Come on Ichinose. Stop mentioning over and over again that the two of you are a criminal and a victim who fell in love because they’re insane.
The manga feels very entitled to forgiveness and sympathy. Yusuki keeps acting cute and “too” nice by saying he’s a devil that should never be forgiven, but he has an army of characters telling him nooo you’re good guy now don’t listen to the true villains societyyy. How dare you shame this cute little reformed angel just because he poured boiling water over a guy while laughing manically.
I think everyone forgot his actions were completely out of his own free will. He was never forced. It was never necessary. He just enjoyed it. He can never redeem himself. He should never be happy. He should never be forgiven or get any sympathy.
His masochistic, slutty slave goes out of her way to make him goodguy.
He didn’t feel any guilt whatsoever. A completely natural psychopath. But for some reason, a wave of guilt comes to crush him all of a sudden and
he ends up getting amnesia.
I was hoping Ichinose was being deceptive and ran away with him as a part of her revenge plan, but noo, the bitch is actually swooning over her rapist. The blood in the abandoned school could’ve been hers, finally making their “survival games” a reality. That would’ve been satisfying. Unfortunately, the blood belonged to another guy. They wanted Yusuki to appear heroic by saving his former prey from another rapey predator. Weird. No one tried to make the other devil a goodguy. No one tried to fuck him. Is it because he’s not the MC?
His depraved mind got fixed with the power of love! I would’ve preferred if it never got fixed. He should’ve returned to being a devil and massacred all of these useless, spineless, insufferable, masochistic characters and finished the series at chapter 50. It would’ve been more fun. I found Yusuki from the first arc was fun. Truly, what a waste. The manga could’ve made a great gorefest. I wasn’t satisfied with the lack of details on his cruel acts. Surely he did more horrible shit than just rape. I want more stuff like the drilling-holes-in-hands thing. They should’ve focused on the torture aspect instead of trying to make a moral message. They clearly failed at it.
