Girl, I'm pretty sure that being so wrapped up in being confident in your answer is a 'yes' in and of itself.

I know this would never happen, but what if the author actually had them lose the audition?

A big evil smack of reality. I like this series but it does feel very predictable and rote.. I just don't want to see this one go into the "It's okay" bin.

Why bother hanging whats obviously going to be a positive answer in this yuri romance series, on her "winning". Everyone is more than aware of what the end result is going to be, I know it, you know it. The extended "Please wait for me" does not even feel slightly natural, more like its come out of the big book of romance cliches.

Why bother reading romance at all? The end result is known from the start in 95% cases.

It all depends on how well the romance is written, to me, here it feels like everything outside of the main characters relationship is more interesting. The building confrontation between the sisters, Yuu's Mothers role in it, the competition, Haru's wavering confidence being solidified. Dropping something so cliche right into the middle of it all just feels like an editorial mandate because someone somewhere wanted to know when the romance was going to happen in this romance series.

Sure, but that whole "wait for my answer" can be a chance to build up said romance better. Because if she just accepted now, it would definitely feel lackluster (which you seem to agree with). No matter how cliche the plot point is, it serves its purpose of showing a development and giving an opportunity for showing a better chemistry between the two. Will it actually happen? No idea.

Your previous post just made it sound like people read romance for the result, not for the process.
