Man, the dudes in this really are dickheads. Itsuki telling Umi what he thinks will happen in the future as if it's fact, and Rintarou acting like he, and only he, can protect Umi. Truth be told, none of the characters are very likeable, even Umi if she's been avoiding Rintarou for a week since Itsuki told her shit.

I like how the character are unlikable time to time. It makes them feels not perfect and more human-like. Plus in this case it seems like the author is intentionally making them this way too

Dude, she was told something by another teenager purporting to be able to see the future. If she believes it without any kind of verifyability, she's and idiot. For all she knows, Itsuki could just be a chunni aspiring to be the next Nostrodamus. And it's not the hesitation that annoys me, but the fact that Umi cut off all contact with her boyfriend without explaining to him why.

Not going to argue with that. But then what would be the point of the story? It'd just become your typical shoujo romcom with a bubbly, genki girl and a serious dork, neither of whom have any romantic experience. Actually, I'd rather prefer that since I'm not all that keen on fantasy or supernatural elements in the romance stories I read.

When another guy comes up to her and tells her the same thing, which he has no reason other than a psychic power to know, then gives her the cause of death, would it be realistic for her to disbelieve him?

I mean lets pretend we really live in a world where you can see someone's lifespan, and the best friend of that person actually believes you and is begging you to let her help save her best friend, and you tell her it has nothing to do with her? Of course it has something to do with her. They're close as hell. Being Umi's boyfriend doesn't invalidate all her other relationships. If she were some random classmate maybe I could understand the mentality.

I get they're kinda tying this into the whole stalker thing that happened, but I feel like we haven't really seen him act that way before so it's just kind of jarring to see it appear like that, and over something so integral. He should definitely be seeking the help of anyone who could potentially change things...
