Dude you scannies that add shit are so fucking cringy. I don't understand what's wrong with you people. Grow up.
The liberties I took were all within context, so relax lol
It's a silly manga, so I decided to do a silly bubble or two. You okay?

I like the occasional funlation myself but don't be so offended by some criticism from different opinions. It's not like they're saying you're doing a bad job, so just continue doing what you're doing.
Not so much offense, just nipping things in the bud. I'm not expecting to be adulated for translating from spanish to english, but there's no need to be rude and ungrateful, y'know?

Either way, I'm not changing what I do, it's just a momentary gripe. :)

Memes are ok but should not cross the line into changing the meaning or adding new dialogue. Most TL will add a meme if they want too on the last additional credits page. Some will add it in the TL note below the panel or page. If you wanna do something, do it right.
It depends. What makes you think the mangakas aren't "au fait" of the latest memes either and would not use them in their work? =/

I didn't know people were complaining about the funny translation.

Dude I have tons of bookmarked untranslated manga so I am always grateful for every scanlation's works. Thank you

It was fun seeing that wannabe playboy classmate be unintentionally tormented at the sight of Daito's "harem".

To rub salt into his wounds, Daito should tell them "You asking me what I did last summer? Yeah, I was busy studying... girls!"

Eh, I just don't like somebody trying to overwrite the mangaka's sense of humor with their own. Stuff is always lost in translation so it's annoying trying to look past the extra layer of memes to understand what the author was going for. That's where I'm coming from at least.

sure, but i just wanted to have a laugh with two bubbles that would've otherwise been "your japanese is good" and "i guess her japanese isn't that good" on a manga that i've largely been consistent with.

to be clear, the two lines in question were literally "日本語 上手だね / nihongo jozu da ne" (your japanese is very good) and "日本語に 慣れてないんだね… / nihongo ni narete nain da ne" (something along the lines of "i guess you're not that used to japanese yet...")

TL going localizer route
this would imply that i'm changing the meaning to fit a "western" narrative which is a wild thing to say when i was making a joke that was more of a japanese reference and not even changing the meaning, crazy i never saw this comment lol

anyway, gonna try to drop a few chapters this week :nyoron:

I was just chiming in about tl memes I'm general. I don't mind this that much, but to be fair you didn't put a tl note. So that's literally just not translating it lol YOU HAD ONE JOB. Of course people will get confused.

Anyway keep up the good work and don't let the Internet mob drag you down 👍
