The Prez being Hosho's rival is an interesting twist because I kiiiinda get the feeling both would bow out of the way of the other, if either knew the other's feelings toward Nanase.

Which would indeed cause problems for everyone, yes.

Also maybe I've just been out of the game for too long or not hip to the newer generation but Izumi's ex's new GF was wildly okay with just walking up and getting all over Izumi like that.

Izumi's ex's GF proved a point though - Izumi is into the same type as her ex, judging by the eyes and pushiness of her best friend. The stoics like people who burst their bubbles, and push their boundaries. In moderation at least.

oh yes, narratively speaking that was a nice little "reveal" for Izumi and for the reader.

I was just thinking about how, in just a "mundane / non-narrative setting", that exact scenario just playing out would skeeve me the heck out if I were in Izumi's shoes (but I'm personally not good with that kind of high-energy person, so).

But again, everyone's different. And Izumi states she didn't have a messy breakup, so it's not like merely seeing the guy would set her off or bring up bad feelings, necessarily, and so the new GF not setting her off in this moment makes sense in light of that.

But that poor boy is gonna realise soon that he is in a yuri and all of his girlfriends turn out to be gay. No way was that girl just ”admiring” Izumi.
