And I suspect this means "Haru-chan" will get all monopolizing of Hosho, who won't notice what's happening, and Nanase will get pushed out more and more - and might actually step back on her own, thinking she misread things where Hosho was concerned, possibly "helped" along by Haru having a 1-on-1 chat with Nanase about where Hosho stands (a lie).

And that might mean Prez steps up and shoots her shot, and Nanase starts hanging out with her (not out of accepting a confession, but just a kindred spirit, who might help her mend her reputation, even) - and Hosho will see that, and misread the already fucked up misread, and thus the drama will escalate, potentially also involving exacerbating tensions between Rura & Ai classes heading toward the festival.

Or I could be wrong and either Hosho or(and) Nanase will realize what's going on with Haru and head it off at the pass and set our latest addition straight about how she's not getting Hosho at the end. But I've read enough of this genre to make a pretty decent educated guess as to where the plot goes from here.

Man, I was hoping we weren't going in the tired old "manipulative jealous childhood friend" act. Especially since it seems like she's gonna be charismatic enough to pull a lot of people into her game.

It doesn't help that Mitsuki is not the type to fight for her own happiness, especially if she thinks Hosho is happier with this Haru chick.

I wouldn't mind if this leads to some more development between Mitsuki and the class prez 'cuz I like their dynamic, but man... at what cost...

I fully expect a gigantic jealousy-fueled clusterfuck involving Hosho, Mitsuki, Haru, & Prez, possibly right before or into the actual festival event. The fact that we have this Capulet & Montague dynamic between the two school factions only means it'll be messier than usual as it drags the other groups and cliques into the fray, too.

It sucks, but I guess it's to be expected for how reliable a formula it is in getting a few more chapters' worth of content onto paper, but. Yeah.

one's more dishonest, the other's more potentially actually damaging, is my interpretation.
Like - pretending is just a dick move in my book. Just talk to them, don't go concocting Machiavellian schemes like you're some sort of mastermind, because if you screw up then you're just an asshole who ruined it for the people you're supposedly cheering on.

Actually being a possessive childhood friend rival, specifically, is more damaging, because if it ever comes to light what you've pulled in your attempts to pull the two Leads apart, and they both turn on you, you not only lose your love interest in the end, but also your childhood friend might not want to associate with you anymore. So, 'double loss' and all that.

Still can‘t see prez as anything but a side char with no impact at all. She was already completely friendzoned and barely has had any appearances.

As for this.. kinda sad that we just stopped them getting together organically some time ago.
It ain‘t shit or ruined but it certainly isn‘t as enjoyable as before.

Common trope, but for once the protagonist immediately senses something is wrong. Usually they're denser than a black hole and it takes them 3-5 chapters to realize their position is being threatened.

Feels like we can't escape the possessive childhood friend trope... Kind of a shame considering how unique and enjoyable the premise of this story was.

The disparities between the two classes barely don't even have any impact on the story anymore... I still enjoy it since it's not badly written but I'm disappointed

Rival trope is kind of overdone but tension can be necessary to make a character actually do something. No more passive saphics time. Be bold and get the girl miss rabble-rouser!

How is this Hosho's fault? If anything, Mitsuki should be more proactive if she doesn't want to get displaced.
