How is this Hosho's fault? If anything, Mitsuki should be more proactive if she doesn't want to get displaced.
Hosho was also the one getting jealous during the festival a few chapters back when someone from Mitsuki's past showed up.

If she's smart and aware, I would expect she can see what Haru is doing, clinging onto her, in front of Mitsuki, and clue-in a bit that Mitsuki might get the same impression, wrong or otherwise, that she did the first go-around.

A childhood friend and a love triangle, great. And i guess the rival will be usefull for the two protagonist to understand their own feelings better, as always ?

This manga was close to perfect before that, i doubt it will continue to be. Or maybe the author will do something good out of it, it's possible, i just doubt it.?

It's interesting you mentioned that, because I don't remember anyone shitting on Mitsuki back then like they do on Hosho now. I guess some readers can be pretty biased. I bet it's because Mitsuki's the MC, so she can go around with another girl that isn't Hosho and no one complains, but if Hosho does the same, everyone throws a fit.

Well, I don't care for that way of thinking. Personally, the inclusion of Haru is just fine. It will push Mitsuki to be more proactive. She's a bit passive in her relationship with Hosho, like she's taking her for granted. This might just change that and that's a good thing.

I think I would like it less if Haru were merely trying to make Mitsuki jealous "as a friend testing the love interest's commitment", than I would if she were a proper rival for Hosho's love. But that's purely out of me preferring an honest rival to someone who's here just to gatekeep love interests for someone, like they have some right to do so, and in such a conniving way.

It would have been nice if this was more about having to overcome the class divide that's going on the school, than injecting additional characters that serve as roadblocks/motivation; I think the student body itself scheming to pull Mitsuko and Hosho apart, along with this ongoing investigation into Mitsuki involving that property damage incident, could have served as enough ammunition to test their bonds and see if Hosho would try to step up and help Mitsuki out, forcing them together while trying to clear Mitsuki's name and bring the classes together (I've made the comparison to Capulets & Montagues before, but I think mostly in a "rival houses/groups being brought together in harmony through the efforts of lovers fighting the odds", generally speaking).

I see how Haru forces Mitsuki specifically to be more proactive toward Hosho on an individual level, though I also kinda assumed Hosho was the "primary protagonist" and that Mitsuki was the deuteragonist, so that's where my framing of Hosho being the one who had to step up and help her lover out is coming from.
I do kind of suspect that Mitsuki might just step back, though, because she's been so passive (as you pointed out) if it seems like Hosho's drifting/being pulled away, taking it as "oh, the 'high society lady' wants nothing to do with me, after all". Especially if she gets caught up in this scandal surrounding her and that pulls her focus (whether she wants it or not), which I think is well and truly laid out as an upcoming point of contention for the cast in general as lines are drawn going into the festival.

It also makes me wonder if Haru will get a "partner", as most of the rest of the cast has been at least somewhat set up with a counterpart, from what I remember.
Since I'm going to assume that Hosho & Mitsuki ultimately end up together, Haru is eventually going to be a losing heroine, but as she's not necessarily "a villain" in this story (since there's not looking to be any of those in general), there must be someone either currently floating about or in the wings for her to end up with, at least looking at the setup of the rest of the characters.

Rather than Haru, I'm frankly itching way more for the investigation to be over with.

I feel like wrapping that up would also wrap Haru's disturbance arc as she also mentioned that she doesn't like judging what she doesn't see with her own eyes.

“Go around with another girl” wtf you talking about?
Mitsuki never walked around with another girl at the festival… She walked around with Hosho and then the big sister called her name and they talked a little WITH Hosho and then the big sister left and Mitsuki walked around with Hosho again while holding hands now…

So do explain how these 2 situations are the same

UdenEmpati mentioned the festival but I was talking more about Mitsuki and the president myself. Mitsuki's getting pretty close to the president, to the point Hosho started getting jealous. That's something that was going on even before the festival. Like here:

Don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with that, or with what happened in the festival. My problem is with some readers shitting on Hosho because Haru is getting close to her, even though they didn't have a problem with Mitsuki and the president. Hosho didn't do anything wrong, and Haru getting introduced is a good way to push Mitsuki to stop being so passive anyway. So to me this is all good.
