I've read it quite a while ago, but as I remember she wanted to feel needed. Kanae's ex provided her with that feeling. Now that ex is ex, she wants to feel needed again, so welcome daddies!

She’s back to her traumatic coping mechanisms and now even more of a psycho…guess this is the point of no return considering she has no support group (or at least doesn’t like relying on others)

But the guy was right, she’s just assuming for people to be your friend they need to always be nice and well intentioned/share the same opinions and worldview. I guess it’s because the only thing she wants from friendships are people that “understand” her.

Not just that, she's also close friends with the guy that attacked him and busted his shoulder, ending his pitching career. I expect that either of them finding out that detail could be the trigger for them to snap and have the flash-forward confrontation.

I'd also expect the stabbing to be Kanae snapping and attempting a murder suicide with Hiroshi clumsily defending himself, rather that Hiroshi snapping and deciding to murder her. But hey, maybe he'll break down way more in the next few chapters and actually be the aggressor.

Now she thinks he hates her or at very least that to him baseball is more important than her.
Not having Hiroshi at her side anymore, she returned to what she used before

Whilst this chapter was all kinds of fucked-up, Kanae being back to her psychotic self and Hiroshi also losing it. The last panel was hot.
