Another Wattpad style garbage story

1. MC is a neurotic crazy girl whose completely unremarkable (except the unique thing this time is being BATSHIT FUCKING INSANE who definitely has BPD)

2. The main male MC, her crush being a tall athlete jock who sleeps around with women and ruins them and doesn't know what love is but "wants to change" for the MC. At least he is a bit decent compared to similar characters in these kinds of stories, they are even worse usually.

3. An orbiting friend who is jealous of the so called crush and functions as the emotional crutch for the fem MC whenever she messes up but seethes and starts a love triangle and in this case smashes the shoulder of the main male MC (usually in these stories the Fem-MC leaves the main crush for this guy after realizing he is not fixable)

4. Literally no one having virtues and morals and fucking around left and right, betraying each other left and right, concept of loyalty to friends or to partner out of the fucking window. If you can't do it either you are portrayed as unattractive (the girl in the friend group) or have no social skills (new vice president of baseball club)

5. Extreme toxicity all around, actually good characters are non-existent (and don't call it realism because cmon there are decent people in this world that don't behave even closely to the characters in this trainwreck of a manga). And I mean it, there is not a single decent character.

6. The plot, like, what the fuck is the plot even anymore?

and finally add in a smidge of edginess to truly stand out with good old SA, violence and whatever else turned up to 100%, typical of these kinds of stories, so that it "stands out" (it doesn't).

And I am the biggest retard for reading this entire story based off of a recommendation from the beginning because this is like a car crash that you can't take your eyes off from even though you know whats happening and what will happen. At least I am now finally free.

At least the art is good but thats probably the only thing it has going for it. Also maybe a small bit of grim realism that actually happens in social situations in real life but is overshadowed by the other garbage mentioned.

Seriously, how did you make it through the tomiko arc if you were just gonna drop it anyway? I think people who actually cared dropped this during that arc.

Also, it’s been a hot minute, so far be it from me to argue with someone fresh off a binge, but was the baseball boy not, like, vehemently against sex? I remember her basically having to emotionally blackmail him into bed, which does not sound like the behavior of a “jock who sleeps around with women and ruins them”.

I have a very bad habit of being too curious even if it kills me, so I willingly read to the conclusion or even the latest chapters before I make a decision. Sometimes I give even the shittiest of stories a chance to redeem themselves. This has not. I argue that the unattractive girl's backstory arc was like the only decent part of the manga ngl.
Also, I am talking about the past behaviour of the male MC. Its good that he is "redeeming" himself or whatever, but cmon if he is that adamant on fixing himself he won't fall for whatever the fem MC did in those chapters and even attempt to have sex with her (which he almost did if his dick worked). Shallow morals. Also yes, his backstory is full of girls that try to get with him only for him to basically be nonchalant about them (idk the exact words to describe his behaviour), a behaviour that causes his childhood friendship-turned-gf to breakup with him. As I said, he is still one of the better guys in these types of stories so I will give him that. He still sucks majorly though.

Gotta say, to me Runa feels like the most normal teenager out of the quartet. She has a pretty good sense of social awareness to understand her circle's mood, much like Tomita's, however she doesn't have the security to express her real thoughts so she tends to internalize them to fit in the group and not being seen as an outcast.

Right now, Runa has two problems: her struggle of her self identity and Kanae. The first one is something almost everyone goes through, separating her childhood likes from her mature ones and choosing which ones she wants to show to the world. She still likes cute things, but she doesn't believe they fit her anymore, she's self-conscious about them and thinks her friends will mock them and make fun of her for using them, so she hides that side of her for the sake of her social life.

The second one is much simpler but also more tricky to deal with: she doesn't like Kanae. From her inner thoughts it's easy to see that Runa considers her a selfish, self-depreciating girl who only wants for others to lift her up, a very accurate perception. If it was only her, she'd prefer not to deal with Kanae at all, however she's now part of her circle and unfortunately she has to now. Any attempt to point out her discomfort comes with the risk of discussion, therefore endangering her social status and the possibility of being left out like Ichika, so she has no choice but to shut her mouth and bear with Kanae, no matter how much she dislikes her.

Not that this kinda artist can't make a proper story despite it, but his background is basically a hentai artist that does like snuff/torture porn so i can't see any kinda 'redemption arc'/any good coming outta it unless the editor/publishing company forces them to change some aspects

Considering Kanae seems to have ordered? the same ribbon at the end, (she is wearing it on the volume 8 cover, guess she has some money saved/some kinda online bank account), wonder if it'll make it make her fly off the handle if she's thinking that Kanae wears it as a passive aggressive way to say "This looks better on a cute girl like me" (even tho she's not thinking that/would wanna 'match' for fun like some friends do, versus being 'accused' of copying or the other girl being like "Kanae pulls it off better than you")

(although, it might be harder if she's branded as 'one of the bullies who picked on kanae before she joined the group after ichika left', at that point feels like it'd be for the best if she found a friend group or some bf that thinks she's cute/dotes on her)

Raws seem to be up around 60 chapters though, so i don't know how far ahead the author's planned
