It felt like it became very melodramatic very quickly, I can't help but feel like if everyone took a breath for 5 seconds and then resumed the conversation they could've come to an understanding. Ah well.

MC leaving temporarily made the most sense, the girls not wanting him to have to leave makes even more sense. I can't help but feel like if everyone didn't get heated over "zomg who lieks who" it could've still had tension but not been so melodramatic.
