As much as I'm ok with reading this, it would have been nice if this got the Taishou Otome Otogibanashi treatment where everything was set up, we had the story and it was wrapped up perfectly in only 38 chapters. Compared to that where we had plenty of fluff but also drama that didn't come out of nowhere this one seems to be all over the place sometimes with its drama, like this British guy appeared out of thin air just to ruin everyone's life

Spoiler
This manga really drops the ball during chapters 20-26. After being a slog for so long, it dramatically speeds up on 27 and ends on a really good note. It's like the author realizes the story is getting all messed up and they're like "oh shit gotta speedrun the FUCK out of the last couple of chapters".

To answer your question. The brit dude has his plans foiled, then confronts MC and after some good ol'e talk-no-jutsu, he breaks down and has a change of heart, regrets absolutely everything he's done, then makes amends and disappears (but there's a little bit of romance with him with a supporting character, so even he has it good in the end). Even the maid that was going to marry MC gets something en the end. This feels like an asspull imo but at least he stops being a problem and even helps out in a way.

After chapter 27, MC gets back with mute wifey and remembers everything. It speedruns a closure for Nana's familial ties (which also ends on a good, albeit very nostalgic and kinda bittersweet note). Then it's all closing for a well deserved happy ending in the last two chapers.

Since it slowed down a lot during 20-26, the author then had to basically giddy up and go yeehaw with the last chapters. You might feel it's rushed and I would agree BUT, personally, I enjoyed how it all played out in the end. I'm sure you'll like it too.

However, if you feel like these chapters are stressing you out (and trust me they do), then wait until chapter 27's out. Trust me.

So what you are saying is that it got axed.... so author had to rush things...

And we get an almost happy ending but the d*****bag doesn't get justice but instead a happy ending he doesn't deserve....

I actually expected that to be honest....

Authors shouldn't write such horrible characters if they don't give a good enough pay off...

What the fuck was the point of involving Chouko and then immediately benching her? Huh?
Nana didn't let a soul know Kazu was alive, now Chouko can't say it because she is benched. But Nana and Chouko will discuss it amongst themselves.
At that point don't even do the formality of benching her, just straight up kill her. Just show that there was a flood and the whole cast drowned.
