I think what most people have problem with is not with the WHY, but with the HOW. Specifically with how rentarou is wording it. Like it would be so much easier just to say "Hakari, wait until we're all adults so no one gets a headstart". If he said that, I bet everyone would be much more understanding. Meanwhile the line about "cherishing you too much, yada yada" feels like too much of a cop-out, a selfish and cowardly one at that, one where he dismisses his girlfriend's feelings to uphold his own sense of morality while guilt-tripping her as well. That's the problem for me at least.

The problem with that is, his girlfriends are all different. I don't think being fair to all of them means he must do the exact same thing with each and every one of them. Him discussing books is unique to Shizuka and so on, to as an example.

There is a precedent of the kissing thing, where he did not want anyone to miss out on the "first kiss" though, so if that was the motivation, it would make sense why he would hold back on going further with Hakari, since a fair few of his girlfriends are not ready yet. But his reason for turning Hakari's advanced down this chapter is not that, at least as I am reading it.

Honestly I wish they'd just keep it as one panel gags. Once you start to take the whole sex thing seriously, it all falls apart. For example, kissing your topless girlfriend doesn't usually calm her down - quite the opposite.

Lotsa people in here are pulling the "they're kids" argument. He's 15. Lotsa 15 year olds fuck. Hell, I lost my virginity to a 15 year old when I was 17. I'd have been fucking at 12 if I wasn't such a giant dork at that age. The whole "he's not biologically ready" argument is bullshit. It's not like your hormones just magically switch on when you hit your 18th birthday.

Mentally ready, well, that's different - and realistically he's probably not with the way he keeps treating sex as "impure" instead of just a natural part of relationships. Most of us get over that after a relationship or two. He has to learn that lesson while juggling 100 girls. I don't envy him.

What is a real issue is the fact he's got girlfriends who are very much not ready and might never be - his cousin doesn't appear to have started puberty yet and the medicine girls are permanently in the bodies of 8-year-olds. He's also got some grown women in his harem and that would be kinda creepy (and illegal). I'm not sure what he can do about the medicine girls, but the best solution for the others as far as I can see it is to wait four years. He'd be 19, where sleeping with the older women wouldn't be so weird, and his cousin would be 16. No idea what he'd do about the "who gets my virginity" question, though.
