now that i'm reading the comments, it seems like some of you don't get it. basically, shiina originally had like 28 days left to live, but the goddess promised they would live the same amount if they involved themselves with "baby making." at the end of this chap, she tells them to split the bill. even though she means to split the 28ish days, they take it the wrong way and baby make in the water, so then they both live the same amount

They fucked while drowning???

This ending didn't make much any sense. Why would they make him split the 28 days when splitting his whole lifespan was an option?

We never even found out what the demons were after. Very confusing ending for sure even for an axe.

It wasn't a brave or shocking ending, but I found it satisfying. Good mangaka, hope to see more from him.

they split the lifespan. read the previous chapters, you can see that if left alone he will live up to 120 years old.
I know how to read at least as much. Even the credit page mentioned that.

Its how they did it or what happened after they "both" drowned that I don't understand. Which might have been a deliberate move by the author to make it vague.

I'm so confused by the ending, but at least they had a happy ending

I refuse to believe they put the batter in the oven while drowning. It's also hard to say the goddess put their child in there immediately at that point, given the kid's age and story on how they met up again.

It just doesn't make sense what their dialogue meant. It's clear to see that they live till old age, and they meet up later in life.

i mean, this is most likely what happened since there is no other way for them to live the same amount. again, the goddess once said she would make them live the same amount of time (in ep 13 i think). it might not be it, but it's the most probable thing that happened in order to balance out their lifespans.
also, by baby-making, it doesn't mean they actually made a baby, if that's what you were insisting by the child thing (?). they probably smashed after meeting again and marrying, then had kids

That's what the confusion is about. The kid mentions that they met up at a izakaya (bar). The legal drinking age in Japan is 20, and the MC was 18 when this happened; which means they met way after high school or the 28 days they had.

The death goddess mentions they split something else, and the love goddess says she got carried away. So what did they split, and why didn't she do so before?

It's clear they had kids, but that would have to be beyond the 28 days they had. It seems impossible that the kids are the reason why they lived so long without some other factor. Which would be what the goddesses were talking about.

they split the 82 years yugo had left. i'm pretty sure it's implied they cracked in the water and that's how they got to live the same amount, as there's really no other way. the love goddess originally told them to "split the bill" (split the 28 days to be fair ig) but they took it the wrong way. that's why they split something "entirely different." when the love goddess said she got carried away, she means she talked too much about splitting the 28 days that it seemed like she wanted them to smash i think. none of this would work if they didn't smash in the water, which i know is kinda ridiculous, but it's really the only way

What did they split? I don't understand what the gods were talking about. Did she mean she went too far in when they'd meet again? Or did she put them in a situation where they'd fall in love?
it's just give and take rule, they split their lifespan for each other, but the compensation was their memories when they're have in high school are erased. And it's all so they don't hurt each other's feelings.

And of course, even though their memories are erased, fate still binds their love.

what do the goddesses mean by 15?
Shiina had 30 days of lifespan remaining. Instead of splitting that (giving them each 15 days of lifespan), the goddess accidentally split the sum of their lifespans equally, so shiina got 41 of Yugo's years of lifespan and Yugo got 15 days of Shiina's, enabling them to die together on the same day.

Edit: No, they didn't do it while drowning. Stupid comments section. The price for the split was that they lost their memories. It's just that when they met again, they fell in love all over again anyway, and as a twist of fate, their encounter mirrored that of their actual first meeting. The reason why the goddess didn't just split the sum of their lifespans without requiring that they "babymake" is because she's not entirely benevolent. She had the ability to do so from the start, she just has her own rules over how and to what extent she intervenes, and sees certain physical actions as demonstrations of love, and these give her the justification to interfere.

I assume they split their life spans (idk why this wasn’t done earlier, this was a shitshow of an intervention). This kinda insulates that the MC could have lived to 120 if he really wanted to.

It's like the author had a beginning and an end written up, and freestyled everything in between. This was pretty ass ngl. Giving it a 5 because I don't absolutely hate it, but what the fuck were they cooking?

It's good, but I just find the story rushed, I wish they would've taken more time to flesh out the relationship, instead of just saying he lives her, she finds him weird, then she likes him. Bam. It should've been 30 chapters instead, but oh well. It's already finished.

I don't understand what happened during "split the bill". They were both supposed to drown? But yugo was dragged to shore and survived? Was shiina the same?

Then yugo forgot everything but shiina remembered when they met again?

Still a good manga despite abrupt ending.
By split the the bill it most likely meant that Shiina won't disappear and Yugo won't die.

They'll both disappear from their lives but their past won't be erased (hence why they found each other again).

Not sharing either meant he dies, Shiina gets arrested for murder, or Shiina just gets wiped completely.
