Who would have thought sending in a bunch of teenagers with little-to-no training, practical or combat experience, and/or mental and physical preparation to a gunfight where they are completely unarmed and unsupervised would be a bad idea?

Also, does it bug anyone else how high these casualty/fatality rates are? In real combat, most of the time your shots will miss. yet these fuckers seem to be able to shoot more precisely than fucking Vidicare Assassins. Like, even in Vietnam, the majority of troops would survive and go home, but here, everyone is dropping like flies. Is this fucking Hannibal at Canae? Am I missing something?!

1.) Well. desperate times call for stupid measures. Besides, the adults get the best part out of this deal: No formal military "with guns" while having an impact on world resource competition. Let's add to that the fact that adults can't join because the psychic powers are lost when you're 20 years old.

2.) True, but maybe at these points it might be best to suspend our disbelief a bit (shouldn't be too hard. This is a manga where people have psychic abilities) in favor of the narrative (not saying the narrative is good or bad, but this is what the author wanted). Still, your point is probably valid. :)

3.) On a personal note, goddamn that bait and switch. Welp, looks like a new "protagonist" has entered the battle.

Why in the fuck would they even throw them in a battlefield without weapons? I get their psychic and all, but that's just fucking stupid.

I wanted Usuki to be the main character so bad but he was a walking death flag whole chapter. It's a shame

The plot is dumb and bad.... how did this get a green light. Even trash isekai is more coherent.

Putting underage kids who haven't mastered their abilities without any military support or equipment is dumb as heck. If the world was going to shit why would Japan even care to follow the no war clause. Just use the loop hole that you are "defending" or something.

eh at least it's more logical why the situation is so fucked up I mean yes it is dumb but still makes sense. what trash isekai more coherent? Do you mean plot where some teenage boi who fucked up in life somehow when got reincarnated become someone that save the world and got love from all the gods and women more reasonable?? wth!? at least search another argument and stop that BS about isekai trash more reasonable shit when you compared with another manga

yes sound dumb send kids to war but a desperate situation make it logical like what happens to german in ww2

Lol world collapsing into war due to lack of resources, but Japan cares so much about no guns it uses drugs to send kids with barely working powers into battle 🤔

I started reading this cause Yoko Taro authored this; never expected him to be so edgy.

I am not familiar with the Japanese constitution. Aren't these sort of documents usually written in such a way that they have certain amount vagueness to them so that they can be applied to situations that weren't envisioned or possible (like psychic soldiers for instance. . .) when the document was written? I wanna see a manga about how they ended up interpreting their constitution in such a way that psychic soldiers participating in warfare (but without guns) was somehow deemed "daijoubu".

I'm not really complaining. For whatever reason bureaucracy contrasted against disaster/apocalypse/conflict/et cetera seems pretty common in manga/anime. It happens in NGE all the time. It's a big part of Outbreak Company too (that isn't exactly an outright conflict).

I should really read the whole chapter before commenting. They send them in as NGOs. It's all cool! haha.
