Fun fact: if two gender-swapped but otherwise identical clones have a child together, the resulting offspring will be also a clone of the first two because the genetics are identical

What is Belvy? Is he a consciousness that can possessed anything? I thought Belvy is trapped somewhere though.

Considering the tragedy in the rest of the series, this won't end well. But at least that lady researcher got what she deserved.

From what I remember of highschool bio, if the clones have two sets of alleles like Aa, wouldn't it give a 1/4 chance of producing an aa (ie: not the same trait as the clone).

He's the fourth of a set of clones, and one whose unique abilities led to him becoming a vegetable. He's still able to influence the world because he's hooked to machinery and people (Krasnyy, Sinyy and Rozavy all have chip-like thingies on the back of their necks) so he's both a living person and an AI.

Also, spoilers

despite the bleak situation Rozavy will survive and (much later) we'll get to see her infant child, and the little one is absolutely adorable

@Rozzak That's assuming they're heterozygous for a monogenetic trait. Obviously with mutations and such they will most likely have some variation, but phenotypically, they will still be a probably be a clone for all intensive purposes because mutations are a thing that happens.

De facto, this process is just a drawn-out method which scientists already do by raking somatic cells and putting them into oocyte without it's nucleus and then it develops into an embryo.

Essentially the gametes are just two halves of the same genome set, so what will result will best be classified as a "clone," even if there are minor differences from the host and definitive epigenetic differences

@Pihip, hmm no no, what I want to ask is, how can Belvy is here possesing a heli, isn't he supposed to be "caged" or is it because Rosavy and her brother sabotaged the facility so he can get free?

As said before, Belyy is a vegetable IRL. He's allowed to "live" by plugging his physical body to supercomputers and the like, allowing him to exist as an AI - a digitized mind if you will.

Being essentially a supercomputer, he can toy with the facility's electronics as he wishes, which includes the helo and the combat drones (if you notice, the chopper is unmanned, it does not even have a canopy).

If he goes on a rampage only now, it's because this is where he becomes aware that he's not three minds made one, but merely software (with a wetware basis). And being merely software, he's caged to whatever hardware enables him to exist as software.
