at first it felt like it was wrapping up due to an axe, and now suddenly we're back from the time skip that was apparently real?

I suspect Hinata's time travel is on a timer, so she can only be by Yuzuki's side for a limited duration. She "went overseas" as a result, with the hope that she'd done enough to keep Hinata from taking her own life as shit invariably hit the fan for her.
And, it didn't work, and the way Hinata phrased it at the end, this is not a "do-over until you succeed" sort of situation. She got one chance, and she's only hoping she gets another.

What is a bit confusing is why she's suddenly found the stuffed toy she had made, but not Yuzuki. I could see it being as Yuzuki had dropped it prior to jumping, and Hinata happened along well after Yuzuki's body was taken away and the scene had dispersed. Can't be certain that's what happened, but it's the only way I can immediately make sense of the ending.

That said - hopefully we get more from Hinata's side in short order, though. We only know that the ten years between her re-appearing in Yuzuki's life (in the past, before she'd "officially" met her) had Yuzuki's life take a horrific turn to the point she took her own life; and she'd done it the first time around, prompting Hinata to jump back in time in the first place.
So finding out where they met and under what circumstances for Hinata to go to these lengths for Yuzuki is an important point in the narrative that needs to be unveiled to make sense of why Yuzuki's so important to her. Was it a "your song saved my life" situation, or did they actually know one another in adulthood, and Suzuki "saved" Hinata in some fashion at that point? And that's why she went back in time to high school, as there was a chance she could head off the start of all the trauma that would compound into Yuzuki taking her own life in adulthood?

Right now it feels a bit disjointed, but hopefully next chapter we'll get something from Hinata's side of things to help fill in the gaps.
