Ppl forgetting bisexuality is a thing is pretty common but assuming you live in a somewhat accepting place unless they’re uncomfortable with semi-flirting as friends, I’d just think ppl were pan/demi/etc but while it’s common to crush on a friend/someone ur own age I can imagine ppl have joking about older rich men (or women) if not like “please ur outta my league ;P”

But safety aside I can imagine anyone experimenting with a “stranger” or someone far removed from their friend group, tho given the internet these days there’d be some ppl just being able to find comfort in seeing ppl being a happy couple in another country
