I'm not sure if it's the same in the Japanese FGC, but in the English-speaking FGC a “sub” refers to a character that is not the player's “main”, (their most competent character). In other words, they're taking it easy on the new guy because they are using a character they aren't the most competent with to play.

the font you’re using rn is Manga Temple and it look bad tbh
