Yeah i was kinda surpised to see Mario name dropped. I didnt ask my translator about it but he may have been paraphrasing. Nintendo is insanely strict about their copy right shit so using Pikmin or using Animal Crossing from the previous chapter would have had lawyers at the authors throat. I get the consistency thing but yeah unfortuanatley when it comes to Nintendo stuff your really gotta dance around shit

It's a weird pet peeve of mine. I just like consistency. You either strictly use real world products/media or you strictly parody everything. Having a mix of both just feels off to me.

Bikunin is just the Romanji approximation of how Pikmin is pronounced in Japanese. The translator could have used Pikmin there and it would still be in line with the author's intent
