It's so fitting that the brother doesn't understand why Wataya doesn't feel betrayed. He's executed the perfect scheme in his own head, but completely disregards the human factor. If you blackmail someone to do something it's not like they wanted to do it, and in spotting that, Wataya is actually way less naive than younger Fuji imo.

So now they're just going to forgive her? If someone betrayed me, my relationship with they will be over, no matter the reasons.
She recognizes there are likely outside circumstances forcing her to do what she did but aside from that she is a good person. I mean she already knows the little brother is a conniving little shit, so why burn a bridge when you can gain a new ally instead?

But Wataya doesn't knows about the blackmail, so that can't be the reason for her not feeling betrayed

Nawh fuck this bitch. Her dad fucked something up. Its not like she was doing this for unselfish reasons. She could've just let her adult father handle his own mistake, instead choose to betray these two. They're just lucky they weren't more heavily punished for cheating.

MC is far too naive and forgiving. She’s been a doormat with a lack of confidence so bad that she’s latched on to kindness and has become blind to any mistreatment from people who were previously kind to her.

Whether or not she wanted to betray you, she still chose to do it. It is ok to recognize when bad things are done to you. Forgiveness is fine but blindly pretending nothing happened is dumb.

Personally, I want to see something done in recompense. A sign of good faith but I doubt we’ll even be getting a confession apology to the actual hurt person here. This will probably all be ignored because friendship.

This is an absolutely unhinged response. Like have you interacted with a human before? What fucking teenager could see the threat of their parent’s imminent unemployment and everything that can come with it (such as I dunno, poverty and homelessness, something I’m sure shitty little bro was more than happy to reminder her of) and go “this is not my problem, fix it yourself old man”? Shit it’s not like she had to kill someone. She’s 100% also a victim in this scheme and it’s clear that while she hates it she really doesn’t have any other realistic option. She’s a scared child doing the only thing she can think of to save her family.

She put her families wealth before any possible repercussion mc could face. People lose their jobs and find new ones all the time. Obviously her dad isn't good at his and could use a career change.

100% selfish. I hope you keep this mentality when lil bro gets his inevitable redemption "I'm the victim too" arc.

You can be left with 2 shitty choices and still make the right one.

Dude if you hate your parents just say so? Having your dad get fired, in Japan a country where this kind of thing 100% can blacklist you from the job market (hell you can get blacklisted for quitting a job if your company is vindictive enough), is fucking scary. Especially if you know how hard they work.

Also we have no indication he’s incompetent just that he made a mistake. Most rational human beings would be terrified, let alone a highschool girl with an incredibly powerful and wealthy sociopath of a kid blackmailing you with it.

It’s a guarantee her life would be completely upended by this, a fact she knows and I’m sure that shitter of a kid made sure to drill into her. In contrast our ML would face what? A minor setback? He already styles himself as the school villain, and despite not being favored he still has incredible wealth and resources so he’s not going to be expelled or face any kind of tangible consequences. The MC also won’t face any consequences at all since she wasn’t the target.

I won’t say it wasn’t a shitty thing to have to do but again, there really was not a choice here. It’s 100% not something to lose a potential friend over, especially since it’s clear that she HATES that she had to do it.

I won’t speak on the little brother’s potential arc, that remains to be seen.
