Really interested in when we (I assume) eventually meet Kotarou. Seems like an almost mythic figure, to the point where I almost worry he ...won't be there, once she finally reaches home.
Until then, I'm really digging the atmospheric aspect to all of this - the panels of vistas at rest stops, the wide-shots of stores and buildings and scenery whizzing by.
Not a whole lot of "story" occurring on its face, but we get a good chunk of world-building by way of the tidbits thrown out about characters not on-screen, and little callbacks like how Kumakichi "knows everything about" Azuki by virtue of being with her from the time she was born.

It's technically "Tell not Show" in terms of fleshing out the setting and story, and yet it feels so incidental that it's more like "Show not Tell" in that nothing's being outright explained, but drip-fed and layered up to create a painting of it all, and not simply "exposition-ing" the story from start to finish.
Truly, a journey manga.
