You may have already figured it out after the next chapter, but it's not her he's referring to at the end of this chapter. In chapter 29 there is another vtuber friend who is being fired over it and she freaks out.

This chapter is introducing a new character seeing news that the other vtuber is not being fired and is only on a break, saying she's trash that should be fired because she has a boyfriend.

Fans are secondary. Taking care of yourself is your primary concern, and that includes relationships. For the fans, it basically comes down to whether they think the idol deserves a boyfriend. If they don't, they don't care about the idol, and I wouldn't call them true fans.
