With that said is this just a thing in Japan? There's so many stories of girls going to Tokyo to find rich men to marry that I'm assuming it happens a lot over there. Sadly those types of guys aren't the type to stay faithful generally speaking.

Chizuru itself is the discount version. Probably one of the worst FMC I seen in a manga/anime...

I mean as an audience we know that it's more like a 5 year gap between MC (first year/grade 10) and FMC (college freshman with 2 gap years) which is supposed to make her saying 6 years would be an issue comment stand out.

Of course, the gag is that he passes for older and she passes for younger; if the gap were any more extreme I would think it was just someone reimagining Recorder and Randsell as a romantic comedy.

Now that just might be my bias, but I kinda like how the heroine is not a saint or likable (as long she is not downright evil or something), if the series presents some qualities to her later on I'm fine with it, better than boring sweet girl at least. And I already got through too many stories to even bat an eye to any kinda of age gap at this point so I'm not even factoring that.
