I just realized that despite Hiiragi's straightman attitude, she really wanted to bond with her friends. The date she and Taiyou had was surprising, but hey, at least Taiyou was able to pick an anime with subtitles! I sure didn't expect her to have so much fun at an arcade either, since a lot of arcades rely on sounds and music.

I actually think it's a good thing Akane and Sakura got sick, since that meant Hiiragi got to experience some alone time with Taiyou.

Why are you having the deaf girl play a rhythm game. That's just ?????

I mean I guess you can just follow the button prompts but isn't listening to and understanding the beat usually how people do really well in those games?
I mean I know a guy who plays rhythm games on mute and he's quite good at it sooo

I would love a great anime adaptation for this series. It’s so silly and fun.

Why is the "no good" be like that?
That is so confusing
why is the Japanese sign for "no good" a thumbs up lmao
the Japanese Sign Language might have been invented before the « thumbs up » thing was broight to Japan. Japan has many « hand signs » that are different… like their « come her » that can be confused with our dismissal sign (palm toward the ground, bringing your fingers in… when you then relax the fingers, it looks like our « go away » sign. So if you repeat it a couple time quickly, it’s hard to know which finger movement is important. But if you ever only saw the Japanese « come here », there’s no reason to be confused.
Note that this is speculation, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s close to the truth.

[EDIT] After looking it up, seems like it was created before the first Great War… so in a time before the big westernization of Japan. So even though my theory is still just that, a theory, I’m more confident in it.

First time hearing about movie theaters providing subtitles.
Also it's a little bit confusing for the "no good" to include a thumbs up, i understand that sign language is it's own language but it's still a little bit confusing, in the same way that hearing words in other languages that sound similar to words in your languages.
Every single non-Dutch film in cinema here (in other words: that's most movies) has Dutch (or in rare instances such as some anime: English) subtitles. Some kids movies, such as Disney movies, are released simultaneously in both subtitled OG and Dutch dub versions.

I'm so happy not to have grown up with psycho-everything-is-dubbed media like in Germany and France.

I’m the type that plays better with the sound turned off since I get distracted by the music, you can actually play only using reflex

Though I guess that’s why people are confused when they see me playing rhythm games on mute XD

I'm surprised JSL has a sign for basically "No/No Good" that ends in a thumbs up. I mean, experienced signers would unlikely get to confused, but newer sign users could confuse it potentially.
