This seems interesting, more likely than this: I’ve been toying with the idea that it’s Yotstuba from the future, like if she goes through all of this time traveling to help Uichi realize his worth and feel loved, then she gets “Childhood Friended” and that makes her resent him. It’d be a tragic way to end things with a twist, sure, but unexpected.hmmm
money on the collaborator just being Yae from the far future
... And I thought he was atleast smartIg I will just make a new one
Nah it’s pretty blatantly an idiot. He canonically can’t even spell hypocrisy... And I thought he was atleast smart
Part of it is that he’s insane and unpredictable. A lot could happen to her before she could rewind the watch if she doesn’t play it right. I mean bro smashed Uichi’s head like a watermelon and went straight for the kiss, who knows what he might do if she shows him direct affectionWhy doesn't she just straight up ask him? If he's that obsessed with her, (and she knows that) just give him a smile and ask. I doubt he could refuse her for long. She could then rewind time and move from there.
Playing the guessing game is long and tedious and she has an (admittedly scarily) obsessed psycho who would do anything she asked. As well as a way to rewind time so that he gives her all the info she needs without giving him any of the satisfying of actually interacting with her.
Watching the person you love(?) die over and over again has got to do something pretty awful to your mental state (which I think we're kind of seeing in this chapter) but it would be a real paradox given the inciting incidents for Uichi's bullying seem to stem from this collaborator in the first place rather than Yae. I feel like the implication is that Yotsuha wouldn't even need to be saving Uichi if that person didn't exist, which would prevent the whole time-travel thing to begin with (meaning any resentment based on the time-travelling wouldn't occur). Obviously any time-travel plot can get really into the weeds and fucky when it comes to this stuff, so nothing is really set in stone. (Also I have a hard time imagining a future Yotsuha wanting to torture her past self like this, she's the one suffering the most at this point, not Uichi)This seems interesting, more likely than this: I’ve been toying with the idea that it’s Yotstuba from the future, like if she goes through all of this time traveling to help Uichi realize his worth and feel loved, then she gets “Childhood Friended” and that makes her resent him. Watching the person you love die a horrible death over and over does that to a person. Estimate about 5 more passes before she just says fuck it and tries to kill godYotsuha...is starting to gain sociopathic tendencies.
