none of what you said refutes the central fact that if the mom and daughter were more like the father then there wouldn't be any of the serious problems.
BTW , he said "hang in there" , not "try harder" . Looks to me like youo're having to spread misinformation in order to try and strengthen your case.

Excellent baiting, sir. You’ve gotten them all

ik this is ragebait but I’ll bite on this point.

in this scene it wouldn’t of mattered which phrase he said, both are useless. He’s doing the equivalent of telling a fire to “stop”

You know what a good father does? Actually help out and not spit out random motivational phrases. He sees his wife having a mental breakdown and that’s all he can say when she’s asking FOR HIS HELP??!!!!! Not once does he say “ok I’ll talk to my daughter, or I’ll handle the bullying our son is dealing with or I’ll take on overtime so you don’t have to work” or ANYTHING meaningful. No panel in this manga has he done something of practical value. We see his mom ALONE dealing with the sister not going to school anymore. Why isn’t he there??? Idc if he has a job any reasonable parent would take the day off to deal with shit that serious. He’s literally a politician prove me wrong.

Is he the worst character? I don’t think so unlike others seem to think but he’s not even close to a good parent, more like ChatGPT inside a human

Did he cause any of his family members to torment Uichi? No.
Let's get down to brass tacks. If the mom and sister were calm, supportive and reliable , good family members like him, then Uichi wouldn't have any stress at home.
And yet we're supposed to believe that HE's the real bad guy and the one to blame, not the mom for emotionally abusing Uichi and deliberately self-harming in front of him, or the sister for screaming at Uichi ?
How about the others have a little accountability for being such a bad mom and a bad sister?

Are you actually dumb? The father is responsible for his wife and sister tormenting Uichi. The story is pretty damn straightforward in showcasing this through his apathy.

His apathy causes Uichi's mom to go off the rails. She came to him for help after facing severe pressure from work and school and trying to do it herself. Instead of helping her he just gives her empty platitudes and doesn't do anything to actually help with the problem. The mom has been the one trying to fix the problems and is cracking under the pressure of having to do it alone. When you are supposed to tackle these issues together with your significant other and they give you nothing but empty words and do nothing its understandable that you would break under that pressure and end up the way she is.

He is responsible for Uichi's sister being the way she is by enabling her and giving her money. Even though it's clear that she lied about being bullied and just spends all day doing nothing in her room and wasting the family's money. We see in the flashback that he did not do anything with his wife to figure out why their daughter was dropping out of school.

The father is a straight up narcissist and a coward. He only cares about his image of being a good father and doesn't actually care about what his family feels or thinks. His demeanor only works in a life free of problems. We see that when things actually go wrong he slips into his delusions which harms his entire family.

EDIT: Oh you are banned so my words are wasted on you.

kek, did not expect to see this comment thread bein actively trolled.:kek:
also, many thanks for the translation since this properly answered some stuff I didn't understand from mtl!:hearts:
so now that the most rancid piece of shit in the family has been revealed I can confidently say that the only salvageable part of this family is the mother. She's still a crazy cunt, but she was in large part driven to this extreme by outside factors. She made many mistakes and took several wrong turns, but based on what we've seen she can theoretically be steered back into the right path. In a better world she would've taken Uichi and ran early on.

Dad is a high functioning psychopath xD

Like for all the family members I feel like its not exactly their fault, the sister was groomed into a bad mindset towards life, the mom is just lowk mentally ill, and the dad has undiagnosed psychopathy!

They're all redeemable in my eyes, so I hope the female heroine (and some of the commenters here) gets a conscious in one of the later arcs and stops actively hating (and in the story, hurting) ppl cuz of their twisted senses of justice

Maybe the heroine will go back in time after realizing she broke bad, and relive her entire childhood to fix all the lives she ruined as repentance sooner or later? who knows

Does anyone else get the feeling that another version of Yotsuha is pulling the strings? She's the other clover that has cured Uichi, but by doing so he doesn't need her anymore. So she goes into the past and makes him miserable so the past self can be with him.
Kinda dark but hey this whole story has been crazy dark.

Also it fits the theme of people who should be taking care of Uichi being his downfall.

You cannot be serious, if you are you're insane.
The dad is simply putting up a front of a "good father" by doing things by the definition of what a "good father" does but does not apply to the situation at hand.

Like when he gave the snacks to uichi, in his mind a "good father" would bring up snacks when a guest is over, but he sorely focused on the action of bringing snacks up it did not occur to him what kind of snack and he gave his son something that could literally kill him because of allergies.

He does not care about uichi, what he cares about is his mental image of what a "good father" is.

All of the family members are to blame, but the mom and sister only got worse because of the dads actions.

He enabled the sister by giving her money whenever she wanted and letting her do whatever she wants with no consequence. A good father would have disciplined her and punished her for what she's doing.

The mom was literally crying for help and cutting herself and he simply goes "Sounds rough, try harder!" with a smile on his face.

Hes delusional and so are you if you think he did nothing wrong.
He is either a troll or an unfunny Homer Simpson trying to understand his new surname is Thomson. Either way, just ignore him, anyone with a single functional neural synapse can see what's wrong in this situation without anyone having to explain it.

In terms of redeemability, the mother is the most redeemable as she was pushed to the brink by the sister and father just like Uichi. Next is the sister, as she was manipulated by Clover into a certain mindset and then enabled by the father, so if she got a cold reality check she could come around. Finally is the father, he was not manipulated in any obvious way, what he does is literally baked into his DNA and is probably the most difficult to change. None of them are as bad as Yae though. I do want them all to come around, Uichi deserves an actual happy family and he obviously still cared about them all a lot. I wonder if Yotauha is going to kill them and that causes Uichi to kill himself again so THEN she tries to reform them instead. Or maybe she kills them for her own personal satisfaction knowing that she can just turn back time and help Uichi for real, showing how time travel has gotten to her head.
