I don't even think he is, I think he literally just doesn't understand people so he's trying to do shit through pure logic and his logic is to be a good father and husband he has to provide. If someone in his family is sad say nice things to them. Just be nice and go to work and get money.
Sure at a basic logical level these are the ways you should be as a father but people aren't logical and straightforward. I think if that's the character he is it's way more interesting than a guy who is pretending, if he's genuinely this unaware and socially inept it's an interesting approach to see how he is fixed.

I read somewhere that therapy of that kind of very uncommon in Japan... I mean, check out the self deletion rates... Half the stories we read in light novels and Manga start with a character at its lowest getting a power fantasy to compensate their shirt lives or previous lives... Stories like tgis are probably the closest thing some people have to... Therapy.

Yeah its looking more and more liie clover is a yotsuha that hates uichi for some reason or another and wants revenge on him. (Might be a red herring but clover is definitely after revenge)

Fixing someone definitely takes more effort than removing them from the equation, but im glad she goes down that path, albeit for selfish reasons. Its interesting to see the disconnect because she never had a family.

I'm intrigued by the plot device that her watch is acting as, but her overreliance on it to redo things differently gives me the feeling that there is bound to be a point where either someone notices the watch or it ends up breaking or something.

Not like Chekhov's gun or anything, but it being so pivotal to what she's doing and her relying on it to repeat certain events differently gives the feeling she'll have to figure things out with no plot device sooner or later.
