I wonder... is there a limit to the amount of time she can rewind back to. Yotsuba may have hinted at this with how she says "she can't rewind back to the days she and Yae were kids" to try and stop his future madness but whether this is a genuine hint that she legit cannot go back that far or a secret diss and how she does not want to change Yae due to how evil he is, is unknown. I do wonder why she didn't go back in time to her and Uichi's childhood after finding out the causes behind his misfortune and stop Yae before Clover influenced him and possibly also give Uichi advice to stop Eito without becoming his next victim.

Edit: It is atleast clear she can go back multiple weeks and maybe even months, from back in the Yae chapters where Yotsuba remarked that there was a timeline she already defeated Yae but rewound for unknown reasons to try and find the true mastermind, leading to the more recent timelines.

I'm kinda hoping the other clover user is an entirely new character that isn't yet introduced or is still in the background, rather than an alternate yotsuha or the hacker friend.

alternate yotsuha just feels lame or wrong for me since the other clover has been controlling uichi's sister since they were in 5th grade (yotsuha doesn't have her custom clover watch yet so she shouldn't be able to exist or go back here).

with the hacker friend, I dont know it adds more to the depressing theme if her only friend was actually betraying her. I dont want that T_T

Other folks have theorized it's Yotsuha's hacker friend, which is probably the most reasonable guess based on established characters, but there's a small corner in the back of my brain that thinks it's an alternate Yotsuha from a different timeline. I have no real justification or explanation for this other than the clover motif.
Alternatively it could be the character which has already been hinted at several times and explicitely shown a few chapters ago instead of characters that have done literally nothing indicating they might be guilty except by existing.

"Ill become a clover?" Wow, just like the main antagonist! I dont know if thats what the author wants to hint at or if its just a red herring but honestly its pretty hard to imagine another person who would feel as strongly about uichi as yotsuba, so in my mind shes the most likely candidate. Second most likely is her hacker friend, but we know too little about her.
Thanks for the chapter.

Alternate Yotsuba managed to make Uichi happy and it ended the world or something 🙃

Also Fuu helps Yotsuba discover Yae is one of Uichi's tormentors. Given that Clover reacts badly to Yae ghosting them (scamming Uichi's family sooner than it occured originally in prior timelines, as noted by Yotsuba), does not seem like it is a case of 4D chess where Clover/Fuu purposely throws Yae to Yostuba to get Uichi dead sooner (note how Clover tells Yae to not do anything rash as he is panicking about getting caught, so Clover is clearly not taking advantage of Yae's paranoia to have him just kill Uichi either).

Had to read chapter one again after that since technically that’s what happened next. It’s a great way to connect the story back on its self and remind you why the first chapter got you hooked on the story in the first place. Definitely chefs kiss👌🏾

It doesn't fit the timeline though (starting when uichi/yotsuba were in 5th grade), that's 2 years before the start of middle school.

The only thing given in the story so far that happened around that time was yotsuba changing orphanages and getting adopted, and some characters that have been introduced at that time are yotsuba's own bullies in the new orphanage or her adoptive brother (adoptive mom is dead so she's out).

My bet is on one or more of the orphanage bullies getting vindictive over her getting adopted and using the stolen letters from uichi to get at him, as the only way to get to her.

Or it's a not-yet-introduced character.

Well now we know how it happened on her end, it's about what I expected. She's been through so much though, way more than him considering all the timelines she would have watched him die, she'll need some serious counselling when it's over (lmao, that won't happen, it's Japan after all)
Yotsuha at the end...

While I appreciate backstory and worldbuilding I can't help but feel that how long this took is a little bit of the author going "shit, why did the clover stop working, I need to come up with a good reason. Uhm uh UH I cast Power Word: Flashback!"

The chapter is good as always. One thing I wonder reading the comments, isn't it quite likely that the other clover is
Yotsuha's brother
? I'd be positively surprised if it's not the case.

Darn...so that's how it began.

But what about you, Yotsuha? How will you be happy if you continue to put yourself through this and suffer in silence alone?

You can't do it forever either...everyone has a limit, no matte how strongwilled and determined they are, and I have a feeling that you may soon reach yours.

Then again....what kind of therapy would suffice for this? No one would believe you if you brought up time travel...

sigh

I wonder... is there a limit to the amount of time she can rewind back to.
A few chapters ago she gets the watch in the spring of her second year of highschool. Now this chapter ends with her returning to the spring of her second year of highschool.

So that is my guess is that point in spring, in her second year of highschool, is the earliest point in time that she can go rewind to. She can only go back to when she is in hospital. She can't prevent the family's initial downfall, stop the middle school bullying or fix the first year of highschool. It is a good limit, I think, because otherwise just find Clover as a baby.
Also Fuu helps Yotsuba discover Yae is one of Uichi's tormentors...
It is interesting, because we did see that, but I believe it is implied at the same time that the Fuu-chan who outed Yae is from a timeline that was replaced before we even started the story. If that holds true, the current Fuu-chan we get to see isn't the same one who outed Yae to Yotsuha, so wouldn't have been able to plan around it. The Fuu-chan we have seen has only been asked to track down Clover, a task she might be dragging her feet on. And after Yotsuha got her involved in this timeline, Clover started asking about "Uichi's friend" unprovoked.

I think Rei-kun being Clover is a misdirect. I see no explicit information to assume it is Yotsuha's brother other than him being a character that exists. I might drop the manga if it introduces the level of time-travel shenanigans two competing time rewinders would involve.

I think most of the information we have available at this chapter heavily implicates Fuu-chan being Clover. She knows Uichi early enough to form a weird grudge before he starts middle school. She shows a high level of affection towards to Yotsuha, similar to how Yae did and maybe enough to adopt her clover motif. Yotsuha leaked snippets of what is actually going on to her. She was shown to have a superior intellectual ability even as a child, which was probably enough to manipulate a slightly older sister and destroy a family. She has the computer ability to do everything Clover has done. In a lot of her scenes, her reactions are purposefully obscured from us by the mangaka. I think we never get to see her internal dialogue.

But because it feels like the mangaka wants us to think it's her, it is actually probably not her.
Ultimately there is purposeful misdirection and the very real possibility the mangaka doesn't even know the answer as they're pushing out chapters. Their income depends on keeping this going as long as possible, so it is more likely we are going to get a handful of new characters that could all potentially be Clover than it is that we get answers anytime soon. It is very very fun to speculate, but ultimately pointless.

If this don’t get a happy ending imma be not very daijoubu.
She WILL help him become strong enough to be his old self. They WILL both be strong enough to stop Clover as a team. When the weight of single-handedly fixing multiple people's lives with no rest finally catches up with her, he WILL be ready to support her as much as she has done for him. They WILL live together and they WILL be happy.

We just have to believe.
