Like we for sure know that Kazuha ruined his life by raping him. But that does not exactly mean he was a happy man before that. Also people usually don't kill themself just because of 1 thing, even if that thing is very bad. There are exceptions of course but assuming this is an exception is kinda mid especially in a mystery manga that introduces new evidence every chapter. Like one never assumes an exception unless there is sufficient evidence it for sure is the exception.
She also quite literally said he died before she even introduced yotsuha and while that doesn't mean that yotsuhas existence was not the main cause for his suicide this also shows that he legit offed himself after just hearing that a "rape" baby exists. And I highly doubt a stable person with no prior problems kills themself just because of that (ofc exceptions and stuff but as previously explained).
This is very much further supported by the advice he is giving his daughter, if he tells his daughter to fake her personality and act different from her main self, then he for sure did that himself, especially since he basically admitted to that when he said "We both are smart". He just put on an act and that made him unhappy inside cus he was not his true self and that caused him to have the same depression his daughter had. Then he got slapped by yotsuhas existence and this is my guess but probably some work related issues or smth.
He faked his happiness, advised his daughter to fake her happiness, didn't realise it was causing a slow downward spiral of self doubt and insecurities, then got slapped in the face by an illegitimate child and potentially more and then offed himself.
Or and thats a batshit theory, someone else is the true clover and they killed the dad and let it look like suicide but that is just beyond speculation
