She does disappear, and it's terribly sad, but then it immediately cuts to a celebration some time later. Afterwards, the two of them go back to the lake and she's brought back? I'm not clear on the specifics, and it happens so quickly that there's no real time to process it before the chapter ends. She's about to fall into his arms, and then that's it.

Friggin' kami. Man, I'm so glad deities aren't real. Life is challenging enough without all of their nonsense thrown in the mix.
