I get that. But after almost 100 chapters of mystery, Miyuki's reintro is kinda a letdown

I don't think either Kenmochi or Akechi would have saved it, even Miyuki is a maybe. Original Kindaichi had more appeal as teenager who had whole life ahead of him, while middle-aged lonely man that everyone tramples on is just too depressing, it's just not hitting the right chords, and everyone just wants to know where did it all go wrong.
