That's no proof, there is no evidence linking the two metal pieces to the hypothesized trick.

The guy can still feign ignorance saying that the metal pieces are used for X Y or Z and no one can prove otherwise.

Man, both Conan and Kindaichi's older cases were much better. They are going downhill lately.

@pomodoro agreed, the strong point of Kindaichi's cases is the psychological trick. This case is more likely Conan's case but with weaker execution.

Maybe its coz i happen to work with electronics, so it bothers me that they ignored the fact there is no way current strong enough to power that magnet can flow through that tiny wire without melting it down, or at least setting the cardboard boxes on fire. The trick in this one is indeed more Detective Conan's style rather than Kindaichi's usual more grounded, more "realistic" tricks...

Also, thanks to the translators for batching the releases so we don't have to wait 😘

This feels like the author wanted to use higher technology for the cases, but ended up overreaching a bit... Maybe if they did not try squeezing everything into 6 chapters? I did enjoy the trick with the sticks though.

Not obviously so, but remember: those metal pieces were found in a vacuum cleaner bag, among the broken glass that was dropped in front of Shizuki's room door. Kindaichi himself even said his fingerprints are bound to be on them.

So, to summarize:
Two thin, black metal pieces, the color of which match the room number as seen on the door, easily proven to have been in front of Shizuki's room door.
Said metal pieces having Shizuki's fingerprints on them.
Utsugi dying from a poisoned needle, which he came into contact with because he somehow mistook 1001 for 1004.

At that point, what other explanation can Shizuki give, exactly?
