Last night, after finishing reading this case, I had some fridge logic set in: Why did the newspapers report that the girl committed suicide? This chapter makes it clear she wasn't considering suicide by her prior actions, but then goes on to show that she died in a skiing accident. So where does the suicide angle come in? The police must have investigated and found that the death was accidental, and there was no note - why would anyone think "oh, this girl found frozen to death (or however it was she died, I don't remember the exact details) up in the mountains at a ski resort, wearing full skiing gear, must have killed herself"? That whole part doesn't make sense. It would have made more sense if the newspapers had accurately reported it as an accident, but in his grief, the dude wrongly assumed she must have killed herself.
