The Star Trek writers really don't want you to think about how the transporters work.
They're staring each other down to establish who has the more powerful and seductive beard. Will is winning.
This isn't how star trek transporters work and you haven't actually watched star trek
They move people through subspace and the weird transporter accidents are due to freak subspace occurrences
They even had a bit in ST:ENT about the misconception of star trek transportation killing the user, in the same episode they have someone stuck in subspace out of phase with normal space
In Star Trek Lower Decks, Boimler was partly out of phase with normal space but still visible
The Star Trek transporters just phase you into subspace and beam you through subspace to your destination and then just rephase you into normal space
I absolutely hate those videos on YouTube that try to justify the killing machine misconception by entirely ignoring how the transports in star trek work and applying some unrelated real world mechanics onto them
