That was a very sudden ten month time skip, I guess the author didn't want to focus too much on the story away from his friends and stuff. The caddy arc felt like it lasted five times longer than this but I guess the months long breaks between chapters didn't help that.

As I was reading this chapter I was thinking "the pacing in this arc is start to feel slow but I guess it's golf, it's not going to be quick" so I was pleased there was a time skip. After all it would have just been more of the same if they hadn't done it.
