author really trying to justify Kanki's evil actions, no matter the justification massacreing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and surrendered soldiers isn't justified and if he cared so much for his precious "family" why would he lead them to their death like this instead of telling them to scatter and retreat? at least then they would have had a chance to live but instead he wanted almost his entire "family" to die along with him.

Riboku got salty about the last bout, he can't let Kanki die without winning the moral high ground. What a petty bitch.

There's a difference between justifying and understanding why a character is the way he is, and the author of kingdom is doing a clear example of the latter, kanki is still a monster who has done horrible actions and has said horrible things, but now we know why he did the things that classified him as a monster by the characters in the story while also seeing that he's not a total dickhead 100% of the time and actually has a little bit of compassion and care for the ones dear to him, like him making all of the saki clan wear a mask so that shou wouldn't stick out. All of this has made him a more nuanced character and has even given reasoning to his actions, which obviously you can disagree from a moral perspective, but this doesn't change the fact that this is way better than having a general that does horrible things and when asked why he does this he simply says: "because i want to lmao".

If there is one thing that the Fast and the Furious franchise has gotten right, it's family.

people of the past? hardly, the nazi concentration camps is not even a century old. The chinese concentration camps are running to this day.
yet virtually nothing is being done, because the perpetrator is powerful :V. Funny how that works.
