I liked the two characters and their relationship with each other. However, I hate this oneshots philosophy(philosophical stances? society?) to my core. And the ending doesn't make it better because, unless the robot girl was manipulating the MC hard so she could get out herself by keeping that information till the end. All of the society in this world was okay with telling the MC that she was going to be next to be killed because she didn't pass a test. It doesn't matter what they intended to do but what they did and didn't say!
Like, they didn't send out any warning that the building was emptying, didn't check that everyone got the memo by going door to door, and didn't set up anything to notify people who could have missed both. They were okay with her dying due to a lack of critical information in both the evacuation of the planet and the stoppage of supplies to the building because what? She didn't express her emotions to their liking? Or is it because they think she's a friendless loser?
It also says directly that only humans have "hearts" which I assume it is trying to counter by having the robot be literally no different from a person. I've always disliked the idea that humans are special and cannot be replicated so great if the opposite of only humans can have "hearts" is a point it is trying to make. But that may just be how I am reading it and I don't think not saying it more directly is good enough.
Anyway, I have more gripes with this oneshot but I don't know how to articulate them well(as made clear by all of the above) so I'll leave it there. The Yuri was cute either way which is the most important thing.
