Sometimes it feels like it tries to be deeper than it actually is. Would be so much better if the story didn't add so much useless drama.
For example MC feeling bad for a dude who he didn't know, who's first interaction with him was to set of a freaking T-Rex on MC. Like visiting that guy in a hospital kind of feeling bad. And then fighting against a dragon rider for his sake. And then dragon rider apologizes to t-rex guy for abusing him in public. And then it was revealed that t-rex guy and dragon rider are childhood friends. And then t-rex guy gets possessed and beats dragon rider, and tries to attack MC again, but immediately gets beaten by a student council president, who then proceed to berate a dragon rider for some reason.
And that is only a part of it as of chapter 9.
There are a lot of really unnecessary things, i don't even want to talk about the baddie who sacrificed students for research.

This manga would have been so much better if it just went in with power/fetish fantasy, but nooo it just had to get ambitious without the ability to be so.

TLDR it's still an ok read but it gets a bit frustrating at times, however if you can ignore drama for the sake of drama i guess you can find some enjoyment from it.

I totally agree with the guy above, the story can go fine with an uphold of justice guy, but an unnecessarily pushover goody two shoes is too much...

If the manga ain't much of different, then 3/4th of it is shit, then suddenly at the end Vermeil make it watchable 💀💀💀💀

Started watching the anime and got to the second episode and started reading the manga, read the English chapters till chptr. 25 and then finished the show. I absolutely adore Vermeil, now just waiting patiently for chapters 26-30 to be translated into English.

Terrible terrible news today, I always looked forward to the 13th day of the month because that’s generally when Gekkan Shounen Gangan becomes available on the net and it’s specifically because I’m hoping for a new chapter of Kinsou no Vermeil. All I can say is RiP Umezu Youko, your art was a gift to us all, the best wishes to the family and friends.






There is also a selfish and more boorish part of me that can’t help but morn the end of the series, and hope for a continuation somehow. You never know how close writer and artist teams are, sometimes they never even meet and other times they are a close team making their dream manga come true, so depending on the case it may in fact be impossible to continue. Ending the series here is probably the right call, but I do hope for a volume 2 someday, I mean the series wasn’t even close to ending, the reveal that Auto is slowly turning into a demon we were about to start a whole new arc with the Parallel World Demon, one minor character was about to take center stage and there was a whole cast of bad guys that was yet to actually do anything, so yeah not even halfway through the series.
Maybe someday in the future we get to see how it all plays out in some form, it can never be the same again of course, but I can’t help but hope.

Sigh, i know its a real shame that the artist died. Its just, its such a shame for it to end here. To be left n such a cliffhangar. God i hope this can continue somehow.
