"After the lie was found out" might have been better off as "After The Reveal", but to me , it implies someone told him about this, and we have no actual way of knowing precisely how we got to this point. For all I know, he pieced it together, and then he subtly asked for confirmation moments before this scene.
The entire relationship would have started with a lie. How comfortable would you feel going out with a girl who'll abuse you in your most vulnerable states to get what she wants? Dude was maximally helpless, and look what she did.
