Dee found and rescue her, guided by Grisha's voice

They talk, then Dee drop the bomb that he's realized she isn't someone from this country.
Then we enter the flashback chapters as Marietta gain the witch's memories at that moment.

While its good he didn't force her secret out, I would have preferred the more open communication of him sitting down, facing her, and directly stating he can wait as long as she needs to open up if she isn't ready. Sure, she might still interpret that as pressure, but just immediately leaving interrupting the communication is bad.

Okay, if they got married the plot wouldn't end at all; there's a lot of non-Romance plot points we have to resolve. In fact, as she points out, getting married would introduce NEW problems to resolve.
