- my wholesome theory is that

griz tried to be mean to get towa to stop liking him since towa was still underage (griz having feels here would be weird but then towa showing up older would explain griz's immediate willingness)

- less wholesome theory is that

griz feels guilty about not protecting towa, so liking him back now that towa is an Adult and Alive is a type of repentance, questionable if griz actually has genuine love here

-least wholesome theory is that

griz was Interested in past towa in.. that way; attempting to isolate young towa to get him to further depend on him, but this ended with towa dying so now that towa is grown up and not dead, griz is acting on his lust and knows he can use towa's past feelings in his favour

Honestly, I'm thinking that Griz must have done something to bring Towa back. To resummon him, which is why he's so confidently pursuing Towa, despite there being many differences between the child "Twilight" and adult Towa.
